June 30(LTIT) –The economy of Morocco is considered a relatively liberal economy governed by the law of supply and demand. Morocco is ranked 7th among 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, and its overall score is slightly higher than the regional and world averages. In a nutshell, the main industries in Morocco are phosphate rock mining and processing, food processing, leather goods, textiles, selling of arts and crafts, construction, and tourism.
Morocco's import of Aluminium cans
The aluminium cans import of the North African country displays regular growth during 2017-19, as the total import volume recorded was 10,450 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended was $65.70 million. The estimated import volume for 2020 has been analysed at 5162 tonnes and the expenditure might remain at $30.11 million. When the analysed volume and expenditure of 2020 has been added with the previous three years it displays 15,612 tonnes and $95.81 million respectively.
In 2017, Morocco’s import of aluminium cans stood at 2093 tonnes and the revenue expended remained at $13.57 million, whereas in 2018 the import saw growth by 62.58%, as the total volume recorded was 3403 tonnes and the expenditure climbed to $21.74 million.
The nation’s aluminium cans import in 2019 again displayed positive up-turn by 45.57%, as the import volume remained at 4954 tonnes and the expenditure surged to $30.39 million.
Morocco’s import for 2020 has also been analysed with a minor growth 4.19%, as the import volume is expected to reach at 5162 tonnes, while the expenditure is expected to dip and remain at $30.11 million.

The canned food market continued to see moderate retail volume growth and stronger retail current value growth in Morocco. Convenience was one of the reasons for this performance, with more consumers looking for ways to save time in their busy lives, especially in urban areas.
