The U.S. weekly raw steel output recorded notable increase by 15.7% during the week ending on April 17, 2021, when matched with the corresponding week in 2020. This is in accordance with the latest weekly domestic production statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The U.S. weekly domestic raw steel output totalled 1.770 million net tons (NT). The domestic mill capability utilization rate was 78.0%. It must be noted that the production had totalled only 1.240 million NT at a much lower capacity utilization rate of 55.4% during the corresponding week in 2020. Meantime, the weekly crude steel production increased marginally by 0.5% over the week. The production was 1.761 million NT during the week ended April 10, 2021. |
